Veteran lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has admitted she "really screwed up" by dressing as a homeless person for Halloween.

The 85-year-old US entrepreneur and personality has deleted a photo of herself wearing torn clothes and dirt on her face, holding a sign saying: "I am hungry help me!!"

She posted a statement on Sunday saying she was "distressed that my Halloween costume yesterday, which was intended to bring more awareness to the very serious subject of homelessness, has offended people, which was never my intention".

NYPD seeks info as jogger stabbed in Brooklyn remains in critical condition

The New York City Police Department said it was seeking additional information on the alleged stabbing in Brooklyn of a 28-year-old jogger, who remains in critical condition. Katie Suarez was hospitalized and on life support at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, ABC News' New York station WABC reported, citing police and information released by investigators. She was alleged to have been attacked on Friday while she jogged along the Shore Parkway near the city's Bath Beach and Bensonhurst neighborhoods, according to police.
