Corrections Policy

Twice Daily Wire seeks to present an accurate brief of what named sources have reported. When we are shown a material error in our presentation—not merely a disagreement with a source’s conclusions—we will take action we consider editorially appropriate. We do not promise that every item is complete, current, or error-free, and we do not promise perfect accuracy.

A correction or clarification may be appropriate for:

• A false statement of fact in a headline or summary we display;
• A misidentified person, organization, place, or date;
• An incorrect statistic, quotation, or legal status (for example, describing a charge as a conviction);
• A misleading headline that we have altered or truncated so that it no longer matches the source;
• A missing source name that causes a third-party report to read as our own finding;
• A photograph paired with the wrong item, or a credit we stated incorrectly;
• A material omission we introduced in summarizing, as opposed to an omission in the source article itself.

The following, without more, are not factual errors: disagreement with a source’s political viewpoint, tone, or editorial judgment; preference for a different news organization; a later development that the source had not reported at the time of ingest; a typographical peculiarity that does not change meaning; or the mere existence of a paywall at the destination link.

If the source article is wrong and our summary fairly reflects what the source published, the primary remedy is with the source. We may still remove, relabel, or replace the item if we conclude that continuing to display it would mislead readers of the brief. We do not undertake to rewrite another publisher’s work.

Send a message to notices@wire-brief.com with “Correction request” in the subject line. Include:

1. The URL of the Twice Daily Wire story page, or the headline and edition date;
2. The specific statement alleged to be wrong;
3. The true fact, with supporting material (a court docket, official release, or the source’s own correction is more useful than an assertion);
4. Your name and a way to reach you;
5. Whether you are the person named, that person’s representative, or a reader.

We may be unable to act on anonymous or incomplete requests. A request is not confidential unless we agree in writing. Threatening language does not accelerate review.

Twice Daily Wire has discretion to determine whether a correction, clarification, update, removal, or no action is appropriate. We may:

• Correct a summary or credit on our story page;
• Remove the item from the current or a later edition;
• Leave the item in place and rely on the source’s own correction;
• Note that information is developing;
• Decline to act where the request does not identify a material error in our presentation.

Because editions refresh on a schedule, a correction may appear at the next 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Central Time (America/Chicago) refresh, or sooner if an operator withdraws an item. We do not maintain a separate numbered corrections column. Removal of an item from a later edition is a form of correction.

An update is not always a correction. If a later official figure differs from an earlier one, and both were accurately attributed at the time, the later edition may simply carry the newer source item. We are not required to annotate every historical snapshot of a developing story.
