Legal
Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of Twice Daily Wire. They allocate risk, protect the brief and the publishers we index, and do not claim that anyone is immune from the law.
Last updated August 27, 2026. These documents are written for Twice Daily Wire as an independent online news brief at wire-brief.com, not as a generic software product or a full-service newsroom.
01.Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the publisher and operator of Twice Daily Wire, currently identified for notice purposes as [Legal entity name — to be inserted], a [Entity type — to be inserted] (“Twice Daily Wire,” “Wire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Twice Daily Wire publication at wire-brief.com, including the twice-daily news brief, story pages, search and filter tools, and any related software, interfaces, emails, or successor URLs (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by the following documents, which are incorporated by reference: Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, GDPR & International Privacy Notice, Editorial Standards & Ethics Policy, Corrections Policy, Content & Source Attribution Policy, Copyright & DMCA Policy, Automation & AI Disclosure, Advertising & Sponsored Content Disclosure, Acceptable Use Policy, and Legal Notices. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
02.Publication identity
Twice Daily Wire is an independent online news and information publication. It is not a press association, not a wire service, not a government outlet, and not an agent, partner, or spokesperson of any publisher whose work appears in an edition. A reference, headline, photograph, or hyperlink does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or authorization by the named source.
The legal entity that operates the Service, its formation jurisdiction, and its principal office have not been supplied for publication in this document and are therefore stated as placeholders: [Legal entity name — to be inserted]; [Principal office / mailing address — to be inserted]. Until those details are inserted, legal notices may be sent to notices@wire-brief.com.
03.What the Service actually is
The Service is a twice-daily news brief. It collects, organizes, and displays headlines, short factual summaries, source names, publication times, category labels, and, where available, photographs or thumbnails relating to current events. Editions are designed to refresh at 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Central Time (America/Chicago). American news is prioritized. Desks presently offered are United States, World, Science, Business, and Health.
Items are assembled primarily from publicly available RSS and similar publisher feeds, including feeds associated with the Associated Press, BBC News, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, PBS NewsHour, The Guardian, CNBC, NASA, ScienceDaily, and France 24. A typical item consists of (a) a headline supplied by or derived from the source, (b) a short summary taken from the source’s own feed description or equivalent metadata, cleaned of markup and truncated, (c) the source’s name, (d) a timestamp, (e) where the feed or the linked page supplies one, a photograph with a credit if known, and (f) a hyperlink to the publisher’s original report.
Twice Daily Wire does not presently operate a full newsroom of beat reporters, does not publish staff editorials or opinion columns, does not host reader comments, does not offer user accounts, does not publish a newsletter unless one is later announced, and does not produce original video or audio programming. The brief is not a substitute for the source article. Full reporting lives with the original desk.
Coverage that appears under United States, World, Science, Business, or Health may include government, courts, crime, markets, public health, and similar subjects when they are reported as news by the indexed sources. The Service does not presently maintain dedicated sports, entertainment, culture, or opinion desks. If a later edition adds a desk, these Terms will still apply.
04.Eligibility and children’s use
The Service is directed at a general adult audience. It is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where a higher digital-consent age applies. You represent that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or that you are using the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian as required by law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act or equivalent law. If you believe we have, write to privacy@wire-brief.com.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or of the jurisdiction from which you access it, including applicable export-control and sanctions rules.
05.Limited license to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and display the Service for your personal, non-commercial informational use, and for ordinary professional reading, using a generally available web browser.
This license does not include any right to scrape, harvest, bulk download, republish, frame, mirror, systematically copy, or commercially redistribute the Service or its database of headlines. Those activities are addressed in the Acceptable Use Policy.
06.Intellectual property
Subject to the third-party rights described below and in the Copyright & DMCA Policy, Twice Daily Wire owns or licenses the compilation of each edition; the selection, arrangement, and coordination of items; original text we write (including these legal pages and any masthead copy); the Twice Daily Wire name, masthead, and trade dress; and the software, design, and editorial systems we use (the “Wire Materials”). The Wire Materials are protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
We do not claim copyright in facts, in public records, or in the underlying news reports, photographs, graphics, or trademarks of the Associated Press, BBC News, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, PBS NewsHour, The Guardian, CNBC, NASA, ScienceDaily, and France 24 or of any other third party. Headlines, summaries, photographs, and links displayed in an edition remain, as between you and the source, the property of the applicable publisher, photographer, or rights holder. Display of a credit line is an attribution, not a representation that we own the photograph.
“Twice Daily Wire,” “Wire,” the masthead presentation, and related logos and trade dress are trademarks or trade dress of the operator, whether or not registered. You may not use them in a manner that is likely to cause confusion as to source, sponsorship, or affiliation.
07.Third-party content, aggregation, and links
The Service indexes, summarizes, and links to third-party reporting. That material is “Third-Party Content.” We may independently summarize, quote briefly, categorize, timestamp, and hyperlink to Third-Party Content for purposes of news reporting, commentary on the existence of a published report, indexing, and reader navigation. A summary is not a reprint of the source article and is not offered as a substitute for it.
We do not undertake to verify independently every fact appearing in Third-Party Content. Attribution to a named source means the item is presented as that source’s reporting, not as a finding of Twice Daily Wire. Hyperlinks are provided so you can read the original. A link is not an endorsement, a joint venture, or a representation that the destination remains accurate, available, or lawful.
Third-party sites have their own terms, privacy practices, paywalls, and advertising. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies. Embedded photographs are loaded from the publisher or its content-delivery network when the feed or page supplies a URL; those requests are governed by the third party’s practices as well as our Cookie Policy.
08.No guarantee of accuracy or completeness
News is perishable. An edition may contain errors, omissions, incomplete information, conflicting reports, outdated items, or material later corrected by the source. Breaking-news items may change after we assemble an edition. We do not warrant that any headline, summary, timestamp, category, photograph, or link is complete, current, or error-free.
This disclaimer is not a license to be careless. Editorial practices intended to reduce avoidable error are described in the Editorial Standards & Ethics Policy and the Corrections Policy. Those policies state standards; they are not a warranty and do not create a duty to any particular reader beyond applicable law.
Reporting that touches health, medicine, financial markets, investments, securities, legal process, or public safety is informational. It is not medical, legal, investment, or other professional advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or to take or refrain from any medical or legal act.
09.Communications you send us
The Service does not presently offer public comments, uploaded reader photographs, or user accounts. If you email a tip, correction request, legal notice, or other material, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and disclose that material as needed to operate the Service, respond to you, and comply with law. You represent that you have the right to send it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Unsolicited submissions are not confidential unless we agree in writing, and they do not create a journalist–source relationship merely by being sent. User communications do not represent the views of Twice Daily Wire.
10.Acceptable use
You must use the Service only as permitted by these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and applicable law. Without limitation, you may not: (a) copy or republish editions as a competing news product; (b) use Wire Materials or Third-Party Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a machine-learning system without the prior written consent of the relevant rights holders; (c) interfere with the Service or its security; (d) misrepresent your identity in a legal or editorial request; or (e) use the Service to infringe, defame, or violate privacy or publicity rights.
11.Suspension and termination
We may suspend, limit, or discontinue the Service, any edition, or any item at any time, including where we receive a notice of claimed infringement, a legal demand, a source-feed failure, or an editorial concern. We may refuse or stop indexing a source. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) survive termination.
12.Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES. IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, THE EXCLUSION APPLIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED, AND YOU MAY HAVE NON-WAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS.
13.Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TWICE DAILY WIRE, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, EDITORS, WRITERS, CONTRIBUTORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, TECHNOLOGY PROVIDERS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, ENHANCED, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, THESE TERMS, ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTENT, ANY NEWS ITEM OR OMISSION, ANY DELAY OR FAILURE TO UPDATE, ANY EDITORIAL JUDGMENT, ANY LINK TO A THIRD-PARTY SITE, ANY AUTOMATED PROCESS, ANY SECURITY INCIDENT, OR YOUR ACCESS TO OR INABILITY TO ACCESS THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF TWICE DAILY WIRE AND THE PERSONS LISTED ABOVE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT, IF ANY, YOU PAID TO US FOR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (WHICH, IF THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT CHARGE, IS ZERO) AND (B) one hundred United States dollars (US $100.00). THE EXISTENCE OF MORE THAN ONE CLAIM WILL NOT ENLARGE THIS LIMIT. THIS CAP IS AN AGREED ALLOCATION OF RISK AND A MATERIAL BASIS OF THE BARGAIN UNDER WHICH THE SERVICE IS OFFERED.
THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY FOR (I) DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS UNENFORCEABLE; (II) FRAUD OR FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION; (III) GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS UNENFORCEABLE; OR (IV) ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED. IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER, YOU RETAIN ALL RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED UNDER THE CONSUMER-PROTECTION LAWS OF YOUR JURISDICTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
These Terms do not claim that Twice Daily Wire is immune from suit or that your remedy is in all cases zero. They allocate and limit liability to the fullest extent applicable law allows, with the carve-outs this section states.
14.Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Twice Daily Wire and its owners, operators, officers, directors, employees, contractors, editors, writers, contributors, affiliates, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or law; (b) your scraping, republication, or misappropriation of Wire Materials or Third-Party Content; (c) your infringement or misappropriation of any third-party right; (d) defamation, privacy, or publicity claims arising from material you submit; (e) fraud or unauthorized access you commit; or (f) any feedback or other material you send us. We may assume exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification; you will cooperate. This obligation does not require you to indemnify us for our own willful misconduct or, where prohibited, for our negligence.
15.Dispute resolution
Informal resolution. Before filing a claim, you and Twice Daily Wire agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written notice to notices@wire-brief.com describing the facts and the relief sought. We will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days after receipt of a complete notice.
Arbitration. Except for the excluded claims below, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved informally shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, before a single arbitrator, with the seat of arbitration at [Arbitration seat — to be inserted]. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award, including injunctive relief limited to the claimant. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class and representative waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Twice Daily Wire agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims unless both you and we agree in writing.
Jury-trial waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and we waive any right to a jury trial for claims subject to arbitration or, if a claim proceeds in court, for that court proceeding.
Excluded claims. Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court of competent jurisdiction, or seek temporary or permanent injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual-property rights or the security of the Service, without first arbitrating. If the class waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court, not arbitration.
Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to notices@wire-brief.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name, the email you use to contact us if any, and a clear request to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect the remainder of these Terms.
If arbitration is found unenforceable in whole, or if you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that prohibits mandatory pre-dispute arbitration of the claim, the claim will be litigated exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [●], United States of America, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction there, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
16.Governing law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of the Service are governed by the laws of the State of [●], United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent the Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
The operator’s governing jurisdiction has not been supplied for this document and is therefore stated as a placeholder. When an entity name and formation state are inserted, this section will be updated to name that law.
17.Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the incorporated policies, are the entire agreement between you and Twice Daily Wire concerning the Service and supersede prior understandings relating to the same subject.
Severability; waiver; assignment. If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed, and the remainder will continue. A failure to enforce is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale of assets.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including failures of third-party feeds, networks, hosting, or content-delivery services, labor disputes, government action, or natural disaster.
Electronic acceptance; changes. Use of the Service is electronic acceptance. We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
Notices to us. Legal notices must be sent to notices@wire-brief.com and, when a postal address is inserted, to [Principal office / mailing address — to be inserted]. Notices to you may be posted on the Service or sent to an email you have used to contact us.
No third-party beneficiaries, except for the indemnified persons and the owners of Third-Party Content to the extent a provision is intended to protect their rights.
