‘Storm fatigue’: Hawaiians reeling from back-to-back hurricanes as Nolo’s threats diminish

Remnants of a powerful nor'easter continued to hit parts of the U.S. East Coast early Monday after bringing a fierce combination of heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous waves to multiple states in its path over the weekend. In coastal sections of New York and New Jersey, the storm triggered such intense flooding that residents were seen paddling through their neighborhoods on kayaks and canoes, past parked cars that had become partially or nearly submerged in water.

The Trump administration put out a new ad this weekend as part of its “PSA” campaign, this time showing President Donald Trump walking down a hallway as he asks people to join him in his fight to “expel the warmongers from our government.” The ad — which at the end says it was “Paid for by the U.S. government” — is nearly identical to an ad put out by Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards wowed audiences on Sunday night as Madonna brought out high-energy dance numbers and Taylor Swift made history. Madonna took the VMAs stage at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, her first time peforming at the award show in over 20 years, announcing: "It's mother." She opened the show with newly iconic imagery from her recent album, "Confessions II," including green lasers and hordes of cameras following her and Sabrina Carpenter around.

President Trump paid a visit to the Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago on Sunday for the last day of the Presidents Cup golf tournament, serving as the honorary chairman. His presence in the Chicagoland area brought crowds of supporters and protesters. Mr. Trump's arrival began with a flyover above the country club about an hour and a half before players teed off.
