Remnants of a powerful nor'easter continued to hit parts of the U.S. East Coast early Monday after bringing a fierce combination of heavy rain, strong winds and dangerous waves to multiple states in its path over the weekend. In coastal sections of New York and New Jersey, the storm triggered such intense flooding that residents were seen paddling through their neighborhoods on kayaks and canoes, past parked cars that had become partially or nearly submerged in water.

HILO, Hawaii — Hawaiians have storm fatigue , Hilo’s mayor said Sunday, as the third hurricane to approach the islands in recent weeks continues to spin offshore. The relatively calm state has been battered by the effects of multiple hurricanes, including Lala, Lowell and now Nolo, as the eastern and central Pacific have churned out at least 19 named storms. None of the three hurricanes has made landfall in Hawaii. “So there’s storm fatigue and there’s some PTSD,” Mayor Kimo Alameda told NBC News on Sunday.

President Trump paid a visit to the Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago on Sunday for the last day of the Presidents Cup golf tournament, serving as the honorary chairman.
