For parents following the case of a former Cornell student who alleges she was gang-raped at the Chi Phi house in October 2024, one question has been top of mind: Why did no one in the fraternity intervene?
In a lawsuit filed last month, a woman identified as Jane Doe said she was sexually assaulted by Chi Phi members while she was under the influence of several substances. A screenshot of a group Snapchat between members, which was included in the lawsuit, showed one fraternity member saying there was “free p----” available upstairs where Jane Doe was.
