Convicted murderer Christa Pike leaves hospital, returns to prison after botched execution

Christa Pike's lawyers on Saturday said that the 50-year-old convicted murderer has been discharged from the hospital and returned to prison. Pike was transported to the hospital in critical condition on September 30 after she survived Tennessee's botched effort to execute her for murdering a classmate when she was a teenager.

Trump says Ukraine needs new president, blames Zelenskyy for diesel prices

President Trump said Saturday that it was time for Ukraine to get a new president, suggesting the current leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy , has not done enough to end his country's war with Russia. "I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal because he could have made many deals and for some reason he never does," Mr. Trump told reporters as he was leaving the White House for a trip to Tennessee. He also blamed Ukraine's recent strikes on Russian oil refineries for contributing to high diesel prices before the midterm election, despite the ongoing war in Iran .

Twelve killed in attack on airport in Saudi capital Riyadh

At least 12 people have been killed and 309 injured in an attack on an airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh, local authorities say, days after Yemen's Houthis claimed similar strikes. The deaths included four Saudis, two people from Bangladesh and one person each from the US, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt, the Saudi civil aviation authority said. Operations at King Khalid International Airport have been suspended. A Saudi-led military coalition has vowed to respond to the attack, which it has blamed on the Houthis and called a "war crime".

Russian glide bomb attack on Zaporizhzhia kills at least 20 people

Russia has attacked the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia with five glide bombs, killing at least 20 people including four children, local officials said. The glide bombs hit residential buildings in the southern city on Saturday morning. At least 32 others were injured in the attack, with more still missing and believed to be under the rubble. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attacks on Zaporizhzhia were Russia expressing "its thanks" for a deal announced by US President Donald Trump last night easing sanctions on Moscow to import Russian diesel.
