President Donald Trump continued on Monday to sow unfounded doubt about mail-in voting ahead of the midterm elections, despite encouraging Republicans to vote any way they can.

Trump’s remarks came amid a meeting at the White House with the 2020 election denier Tina Peters on Monday, sources confirmed to ABC News. Peters, the former county clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, was convicted on state charges in a scheme to breach the state’s voting systems as she hunted for evidence of election fraud in 2020.

Fuel industry warns truck stops not to sell red dye diesel after Trump lifts restrictions

Truck stops nationwide were warned to “proceed with caution” Tuesday by a major industry group after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to promote the use of “red dye” diesel fuel. Red dye diesel is exempt from federal excise taxes because it is intended for farm equipment and other off-road uses. The order, signed before farmers in Nebraska on Monday night, aims to bring down fuel prices by “temporarily” allowing highway use of red dye diesel fuel, according to a White House statement .

Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan to be executed Dec. 3, email states

An execution date for former Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people in a 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, has been set for Dec. 3, 2026, and will take place at the same post where he carried out his attack, according to an email sent to the families of victims. Hasan is set to die by firing squad in what will be the first military execution since 1961. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said late Monday that the plan to use an Army firing squad was recommended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and approved by President Trump.

California couple at center of surrogacy scandal arrested

A California couple at the center of a surrogacy scandal was arrested on Tuesday. A law enforcement source confirmed the arrests to CBS News shortly before officials held a news conference to announce the latest developments. Guojun Xuan and Silvia Zhang are being charged with multiple counts, including conspiracy to commit child abuse and dissuading a witness, Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. The couple drew national headlines last year after authorities raided their Arcadia mansion in July 2025 and took 21 kids, mostly surrogate-born , into state custody.
