Democrats regain ground on voter registration in key states after steep post-2024 drops

After having suffered massive voter registration losses in the wake of the last presidential election, Democrats have stemmed the bleeding in several key states heading into this year’s midterms, according to an NBC News Decision Desk analysis.

But from late 2025 through the middle of this year, Democrats managed to reverse, though not completely erase, those losses in five of them, adding more registrants on net than Republicans in Arizona, Maine, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. And in New Hampshire and North Carolina, Democrats have slowed the decline.

Man accused in Cornell case allegedly asked student not to "say anything," transcript says

More information is coming to light about what the people at the center of the Cornell University alleged rape case said in the days and weeks after the incident. CBS News New York obtained a Title IX record from a source that includes Jane Doe's account, interviews with six of the seven men named in the lawsuit, and 20 witnesses. According to the record, a student who had been at the Chi Phi house the night of the alleged assault in 2024 says she got a call the next day from one of the accused men. She said the call took place right before an event at her sorority.
