Colorful billboards popped up in Kansas with that slogan Tuesday night, as the state's Senate race heats up for the first time in nearly a century.

The billboards depict the incumbent Republican senator, Roger Marshall, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and lounging in a beach chair against a tropical backdrop. Placed by United Futures PAC, a super PAC supporting his Democratic opponent, Rev. Adam Hamilton, it's an attempt to hammer home one of Democrats' main attacks: that Marshall is out of touch with Kansans.

Man in custody following tip about 'violent attack' on Texas capitol: Authorities

The suspect was charged with felony terroristic threat against a public servant. A man accused of plotting a "violent attack" on the Texas Capitol in Austin is in custody after state authorities say they received a tip about the alleged threat and worked through the night to track down a suspect. The Texas State Department of Public Safety and the FBI thwarted a "credible threat" against the state capitol, according to a notice sent to Texas state senators Wednesday and reviewed by ABC News. The alleged attack was to occur on Thursday, according to the notice and Texas DPS.

California bans child marriage, a practice still legal in 32 US states

California has officially banned child marriage, with Governor Gavin Newsom signing legislation to end the practice that is still legal in 32 US states. The new law, which will come into effect on 1 January, states people must be 18 to get married in the Golden State. Newsom called it a "long overdue measure to protect young Californians and minors". He signed the bill into law with Courtney Stodden whose parents allowed her to marry a 50-year-old Hollywood actor when she was just 16.
