Space station crew returns home after eight-month mission

The four people departing the International Space Station strapped into their Crew Dragon capsule and undocked early Wednesday, setting up re-entry and splashdown Thursday off the coast of Southern California to close out a 237-day stay in orbit.

With Crew 12 commander Jessica Meir and pilot Jack Hathaway at the controls, flanked on their left by European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot and on the right by cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, the Crew Dragon "Freedom" backed away from the space-facing port on the forward Harmony module at 8:05 a.m. Eastern Time.

Cornell police pressed frat members on how they knew alleged sex was 'consensual'

Two investigations are underway into a former Cornell University student's allegations that she was raped at a fraternity house in 2024 -- one to determine whether criminal charges should be brought and another to examine how the university handled her case. Newly obtained videos reviewed by ABC News show members of Cornell's Chi Phi fraternity being questioned by university police in the weeks after the alleged assault. One of the video shows Chi Phi members who were allegedly in the house that night, but not involved in the group sex, telling Cornell University police they heard it was all consensual.

U.S. intercepts $3 million in fuel shipments to Cuba as blockade tightens

The U.S. has intercepted 90 Cuba-bound shipments of biodiesel — valued at nearly $3 million — widening a U.S.-imposed oil blockade led by the Department of Homeland Security aimed at choking off illegally trafficked fuel, routed to the sanctioned island's crisis-hit energy sector. Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security said the shipments were headed for ENETEC S.A., a Havana-based fuel wholesaler sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control back in July.
