DA's office declined to review additional material on Cornell 'gang rape' probe: Docs

Before deciding a then-20-year-old Cornell student’s allegation she had been gang raped did not warrant criminal charges, the Tompkins County district attorney's office declined to review material gathered by university police other than a six-page summary of the woman's statements, documents reviewed by ABC News show.

Tennessee Correction commissioner resigns days after botched Christa Pike execution

Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Frank Strada said he will resign days after Christa Pike was hospitalized in the wake of a botched execution attempt, according to Gov. Bill Lee. The Tennessee governor's statement on Saturday did not directly reference the situation with Pike, who is currently "critically ill," unconscious and on a ventilator in a hospital following the Sept. 30 failed execution. In the announcement, Strada said that stepping aside was "in the best interest of Tennesseans as the independent review moves forward."

Trump appears to post Sen. Tom Cotton’s cell number in push to make daylight saving time permanent

President Donald Trump on Saturday appeared to share Sen. Tom Cotton’s cellphone number in a social media post amid a push to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent nationwide. “Republicans in the Senate have to get moving on what I call the ‘No More Changing of Clocks Act,’ officially known as The Sunshine Protection Act,” the president wrote in a post on Truth Social early Friday morning. In that post, he said the twice-annual American tradition of changing the clocks “costs our Country a fortune, is bad for Crime, stress on people, Sports, and just about everything else you can imagine.”

Medical plane missing near Nantucket with 6 on board, authorities say

A medical jet with six people on board has gone missing near Nantucket while flying from Bermuda to Boston early Saturday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard and Federal Aviation Administration. Four of those on board are Canadians, according to Steve MacKinnon, Canada's minister of transport. "My thoughts are with everyone on board, as well as their families, loved ones and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time," MacKinnon said in a statement. "We are closely monitoring the situation and are working with the relevant authorities as search and rescue efforts continue."

Zach Bryan wears "Free Palestine" shirt during concert at Gillette Stadium

Weeks after rapper Macklemore was barred from opening for Ed Sheeran at Gillette Stadium after making pro-Palestinian comments, musician Zach Bryan wore a shirt that said "Free Palestine" during his concert at the venue on Friday. Bryan was playing the first of two concerts at Gillette Stadium. The second show is scheduled for Saturday night. The full text on Bryan's shirt read "Free Palestine" and "An appeal to heaven" with a pine tree logo. Some members of Bryan's band wore shirts with similar messages.
