A vast area of low pressure in the Atlantic is set to draw warm south to south-easterly winds across the UK early this week, but for some rain will not be far behind. Tuesday looks as if it will be the warmest day and after that temperatures will generally return closer to the September average. Much of the UK can also expect a spell of wetter and windier weather from the approaching depression, with the most unsettled conditions likely to affect Scotland, Northern Ireland and western parts of England and Wales.

The first father and son to both be crowned champions at the Sheep Dog World Trial said they "never in million years" thought they would win the double. Farmer David Howells and his son, Jack, 19, from Cymmer, Neath Port Talbot, travelled to the trials in Scotland last weekend. David took the world title with his Border Collie dog, Wyverne Pip, in a field of about 300 competitors from 34 different countries.

A widely used supplement for joint pain has been linked to a potentially concerning outcome in people with early cognitive problems. Researchers at the University of Florida found that glucosamine use was associated with a greater likelihood that mild cognitive impairment would progress to dementia. Mild cognitive impairment, often shortened to MCI, describes measurable problems with memory or thinking that are greater than expected with normal aging but do not necessarily interfere substantially with everyday life.

September's full Moon glowed across the UK sky on Saturday and many people seemed to have perfect conditions for viewing it. It's also known as the Harvest Moon because of its association with the time of year people traditionally gather crops. The Moon reached its fullest point at 17:49 BST on Saturday but it was later, when the sky got darker, that it made its biggest impact.
