‘I don’t control message or what we’re doing,’ scandal- hit state attorney general reportedly says at private event Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general chosen by Donald Trump to run as the Republican candidate for a Senate seat, admitted in private that his campaign was being controlled by outside forces in Washington DC. Paxton, who is locked in a competitive race with the progressive Democrat James Talarico , told people at a fundraising event in September that he had never felt such little control over his campaign because of outside influence.

Pentagon stops using Anthropic AI tools months after blacklisting company, BBC told

The US Department of Defence is no longer using Anthropic's AI tools, an official has told the BBC, months after it designated the company a supply chain risk on national security grounds. The Pentagon "has ceased the use of Anthropic products", the department official said in a statement. Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth labelled Anthropic a supply chain risk in February, and announced that the Pentagon would stop using it by late August.

2 dead, multiple injured in school bus crash with children on board

A school bus filled with children rolled over in a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning in central Florida, killing two and injuring multiple others, according to authorities. The bus was traveling to a high school and carrying 39 passengers, including 37 high schoolers, the bus driver and the driver's 9-year-old daughter, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a press conference Monday morning. Two people died in the crash, including a tenth-grade girl on the bus and an individual in a Jeep involved in the crash, Judd said.
