Secretary of State Marco Rubio told an Iranian delegation to depart the U.S. a day earlier than planned, a U.S. official and diplomatic source told CBS News. The U.S. order to leave was given Monday following technical talks between U.S. and Iranian officials, the sources said. The delegation, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, came to New York last week for the United Nations General Assembly and held indirect talks with the U.S. to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said it is too early to say what was behind the foiled attempt by a co-pilot to crash an Emirati flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. There is no suggestion yet from authorities of a motive for the attacking pilot, but asked by Fox News whether there was any indication of Iran's involvement, Netanyahu replied: "It's too early to say." He said the attacker was being investigated in Saudi Arabia, where he was arrested after the Flydubai plane made an emergency landing.
