Can GLP-1 drugs help people stop throwing away their money?

A growing body of research suggests GLP-1 drugs can do more than just help people lose weight by curbing addictive behaviors. Now, experts at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania want to see whether the drugs can benefit people's bank accounts by reducing risky financial decisions, such as gambling or compulsive shopping.

"We believe GLP-1s will ultimately lead to some structural remodeling of the brain, which is where some of those long-term impacts on food choice could show up, but also on financial decision-making," Michael Platt, a neuroscientist and professor at Wharton, told CBS News.

Hegseth says Hasan execution will be public

Hegseth said he would make sure "people are able to watch it, that it's public." Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said on Thursday that Nidal Hasan's December execution by firing squad at Ft. Hood will be public. "We'll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it's public, because people need to understand that ... there's serious consequences for these types of things," Hegseth said in an interview with the media outlet, Human Events.

Trump donor accuses Guilfoyle of asking him to pay her $100K credit card bill

A donor to President Donald Trump accused U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle of offering access to top Trump officials in exchange for cash. Eric Deters -- a former lawyer, conservative media personality and Trump donor, alleged that Guilfoyle asked him to pay her $100,000 credit card bill in July 2025 -- days before her Senate confirmation hearing. "It was all quid pro quo," Deters claimed to ABC News about the request from Guilfoyle, who is the former wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom and ex-fiance of Donald Trump Jr.
