Ex-Prince Andrew challenges validity of Epstein-related search warrants

London — Disgraced former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has launched a legal challenge over search warrants for his royal homes that were issued before his February arrest, Britain's judiciary confirmed Monday.

The judiciary confirmed that the U.K. High Court was to hold a private hearing on Thursday, as King Charles III's brother challenges Thames Valley Police over the searches carried out in Windsor, west of London, and Sandringham, in eastern England.

The force arrested Andrew on his 66th birthday on Feb. 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office, related to his links to the late U.S. sex offender Jeffrey Epstein .

No 10 insists RAF Fairford is safe after US withdraws bombers

Downing Street has insisted RAF Fairford is safe, after the US withdrew all of its bombers from the military base. The Pentagon confirmed on Sunday it had removed its bombers - thought to be about a dozen B-1s - from the base back to their home stations in America. US media reported a new threat led to the bombers being removed, which follows a major incident on 27 September when police were alerted to three "suspicious vehicles" near the airbase.

Medical transport plane flying from Bermuda to Boston crashed off coast of Massachusetts early Saturday Six people are presumed dead after the US Coast Guard on Sunday suspended its search for survivors of a medical transport plane crash off the coast of Massachusetts early the previous day. The aircraft, which was flying from Bermuda to Boston, lost contact with ground authorities at about 2am on Saturday, and the Coast Guard located a debris field near the island of Nantucket later that day.
