Two pilots safely ejected from a military training aircraft near Seguin, Texas, on Thursday after experiencing a landing gear issue, officials said.

The pilots were aboard a T-6A Texan II assigned to the 12th Flying Training Wing when they conducted a "controlled bailout" at approximately 5:51 p.m. local time, according to a news release from Joint Base San Antonio.

Horse-drawn carriage ban approved by NYC Council

The New York City Council passed a bill banning horse-drawn carriage rides in the city by 2028. Lawmakers voted Thursday afternoon on Romanch's Law. The legislation is named after Romanch Mahajan , 18, who died during a carriage accident in June in Central Park. "We want to make sure Romanch's death was not in vain," Saggar Chadha, the attorney for Romanch's family said. "Not just for Romanch, but so no one else is killed or injured by horse-drawn carriages in New York City."
