LONDON — Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex , said Friday that she was “deeply distressed” by a report alleging that her estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr. , possessed child sexual abuse images, adding that she was informed by police of “disturbing allegations” against him in 2018.

Markle Sr., 82, denied the reported allegations, calling them “sick lies” in a statement to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper. He added they were “the worst thing anyone could accuse me of.”

2 ex-FBI officials charged with lying about Hunter Biden laptop probe

Washington — Two former senior FBI officials are facing criminal charges for allegedly making false statements to Congress during testimony in 2023 about the bureau's investigation involving Hunter Biden's laptop. A statement of facts prepared by the FBI and filed with the complaint alleges that Floris made false statements to Congress on July 19, 2023, and Benavides allegedly did the same that September. Their alleged false statements pertained to "their awareness of involvement in the FBI's investigations into Hunter Biden," it said.
