FBI arrests Massachusetts man on charge of stalking conservative podcaster Katie Miller

The FBI on Thursday arrested a man on a charge of stalking former Trump administration adviser Katie Miller, an administration official familiar with the investigation told NBC News.

John Anthony Proia III, 41, was arrested and charged with stalking over allegations that he called, texted and left voicemails with “disturbing messages” about the victim, who was described as a former political adviser, and her husband, who is currently a high-level federal government employee, the Justice Department said in a news release.

Governor replaces DA with New York AG Letitia James as special prosecutor in Cornell case

New York Attorney General Letitia James has been appointed as special prosecutor in the Cornell University sexual assault investigation, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday, following increasing scrutiny and uproar over how university police and the local district attorney’s office handled the matter two years ago. Hochul said in a statement that “newly released information continues to raise serious questions about the investigation,” which has in turn “undercut my faith, and the public’s faith.”

Homan defends ICE crackdown: "Give me an example of where we went too far"

As the Trump administration's sweeping illegal immigration crackdown draws pushback from some Republican lawmakers, White House border czar Tom Homan told CBS News that critics should "talk to ICE" and "educate themselves." In response to Salazar's comments, Homan said: "Give me an example of where we went too far. That's a pretty bold statement to make." Homan said the Trump administration is still prioritizing people who it views as public safety threats, but anybody who is in the U.S. illegally is "deportable by federal law."
