France prepares for day of protest a week after nationwide riots

France will deploy about 70,000 police nationwide and some of Paris' major museums will close Saturday as the country braces for a fresh wave of protests after looting and unrest erupted on the sidelines of demonstrations a week ago. Protests by high school students over learning conditions sparked a movement that has since spread nationwide, fuelled by broader anger over the rising cost of living.

Around 200 emergency personnel are deployed to fight the blaze at the Nazi dictator's Alpine residence in Germany.

The U.S. ambassador to the U.N. says the war with Iran could last another year, but he hopes Tehran will "come to the table" sooner.

Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton warned in a memo to Secretary of State Rubio that Iran has "substantially increased efforts to target U.S. personnel," and the plots have "reached advanced stages."
